The Seattle Mariners Are Their Favorite Baseball Team: Hasco Enjoyments at The Showbox
October 18, 2025
The Showbox — Seattle, WA
w/ Pinback
Seattle’s carrying a different kind of energy right now. The Mariners are still alive in the playoff race, and for a city that’s waited this long for another October run, it feels special. While most of the noise came from the ballpark the night before, a quieter celebration unfolded downtown inside The Showbox, where Hasco Enjoyments opened for Pinback.
Their album, Wow! has been part of my early-morning ritual for months now. When everyone else is still asleep and the house is quiet, I pour a cup of coffee, put the album on, and let my mind drift back to life. It’s beautiful, patient, and quietly heavy. Not loud — never loud — but it still hits deep.
The band performed as a three-piece: led by multi-instrumentalist JP Hasson, with Nick Reinhart on guitar and Trey Magnifique on soprano saxophone. The setup left plenty of space for every sound to breathe. Trey’s haunting sax floated over Nick’s guitar lines while JP held the center steady. When they played “The Seattle Mariners Are My Favorite Baseball Team,” the timing couldn’t have been better. Seattle had just notched a playoff win the night before, and another game loomed. The crowd grinned; it felt like a love letter to the city at exactly the right moment.
Hasco Enjoyments make the kind of music that stays with you long after the room goes quiet. It’s music that feels good for the soul. Music that’s light, warm, and strangely cleansing. When I listen to Wow! on those quiet mornings, by the time album closer “You’re the Best” fades out, I always feel a little lighter, as if some grimy layer of skin has been sloughed off. Seeing them live only confirmed what I already knew: Hasco Enjoyments don’t need volume to have power.
By the time Pinback took the stage, the crowd was ready for a different kind of release. Their set was tight, nostalgic, and clearly loved by everyone in the room. While Hasco’s music lingers like a morning thought, Pinback’s felt like the exhale after it. The sound of a city still buzzing from baseball wins and good music in equal measure.
