Baroness Red & Blue II Tour Shakes Neumos
Baroness rolled into Seattle on September 11th and packed Neumos with the kind of sweat-soaked, guitar-drenched energy only they can deliver. This stop of the Red & Blue II Tour showcased the band having a blast on stage shredding through both 2007’s The Red Album and 2009’s Blue Record front to back, turning Capitol Hill into a time machine of sludge, melody, smiles, and riffs. From the crushing weight of “Isak” to the soaring hooks of “The Sweetest Curse,” every note rattled deep in my chest and delivered the perfect blend of catharsis and lift.
Kicking off the night, North Carolina legends Weedeater unleashed their swamp-soaked doom in full force. With sludgy basslines, gravel-throated vocals, and feedback swirling like smoke, the venue became a fuzz-drenched cathedral of doom.
Seattle crowds never disappoint, and this one was no exception: heads banged, beers spilled, and Neumos once again proved why it’s one of the best places in the city to catch live music.
